Performance is what you look for when you invest in SSD storage, but when it comes to mission critical applications, it’s important to remember that performance isn’t the whole story. As with any mission critical storage, your SSD architecture must deliver the enterprise class availability, scalability and manageability applications require or you’ll risk some unwelcome downtime, and unsatisfied end users. Several weeks ago, I analyzed the performance of a SAS workload. It was the first time I worked on SAS and I wanted to share with you what I learned about this I/O demanding environment. SAS offers a vast variety of products and tools. Today, I will focus on the core SAS analytic software. I do believe that this is the most common SAS product found at most SAS workshops.
